Chris Rock and Dave Chappelle join forces for California comedy tour
We hear that Dave Chappelle will be joining comedian Chris Rock on his upcoming California comedy tour.
The tour will be headed to San Francisco’s Warfield Theater on July 13, at the beginning of the festival, before heading out to other West Coast cities.
“Chris Rock is a legend and a pioneer of stand-up comedy. He has an unequalled track record and an ability to engage with the audience that has not been seen before. This was simply the right time to bring him on stage with me,” Rock told The Hollywood Reporter.
Rock is a long-time friend of both Chappelle, who is currently on tour in the US and Europe where he’s taking time out from his daily stand-up tour to promote his new TV series, as well as Comedy Central’s The Nightly Show With Larry Wilmore.
“Comedy is something we share and something we both love. Chris shares a passion for comedy with me, and vice versa. We have a mutual respect for each other — and that’s what it takes to have a successful show and have a great time doing it together!” Rock said.
Chappelle, meanwhile, is currently doing his own stand-up tour as he embarks on his new comedy series: “Chappelle’s Show,” which is expected to debut on Comedy Central in the third quarter of 2016.
“We have made a lot of history together, and it is an honor and a privilege to share laughs with such a great man who was a part of one of the greats of the genre,” Chappelle said of Rock.
The show will premiere with an all-star lineup, including Will Forte, Michael Ian Black, John Mulaney, and Dave Chappelle, who, for the first
